The studio

A sun, and the instrument that holds it.

Oryares is a one-person studio with a specific job: carry an idea from the demo to the system real people run on, and stay accountable for it. The name, the mark and the way the work is done all say the same thing.

The name and the mark

Every line in the mark is a promise.

The mark is an armillary sphere with the sun at its heart: a meridian and an equator, a second ring seen at an angle, a horizon ring, all held in a square frame. A sun, inside an instrument that lets you measure where things are. That is the job description.

As above, so below is the promise. What is shown in the demo, above, is what runs for real users, below. Nothing lost in the descent.

As above, so below.

How the work is done

Six rules that do not move.

  1. One accountable personScoping, architecture, code, deployment and the phone call when something breaks. The same name on all of it.
  2. Audit before buildNo engagement starts with a proposal. It starts with reading what you have.
  3. Evals, monitoring, rollbackAn AI feature without these is a demo. Every feature ships with all three.
  4. You own everythingRepositories, accounts, documentation, decisions. In your name from day one.
  5. An off-switch on every automationA process is proved by hand before it is automated, and every automation has a human gate and a way to stop it.
  6. Honest numbersIf a number appears on this site it was measured, and it says where. If it was not, it is not here.
